Hooray for Asparagus! These roots were planted last fall and are already producing!

Weeping Willow

We also planted the broccoli and the brussel sprouts - about 5 of each. Look at how big the weeping willow is? I remember my dad planting it about 10 years ago.

More planting!

More planting tonight before the rain. Dark Red beets, Champion Red Radish and more and more onions. Last week we planted over 200 onions on Friday before it started to rain on us. The last picture is of the shallots planted earlier this spring. They are looking yummy!

Asparagus!

April 17th was the perfect day for the first asparagus of the season, drying laundry and photographing the onions and garlic. They were planted late last fall and mulched over the winter. They are this big in April already! Drying laundry outside saves lots of energy and the monkeys love the fresh air too!

Hearty Volunteer Spinach

The spinach seeded itself last fall and was ready for harvest in mid-March! It is thick, sweet and hearty. Makes for good salads and great eggs.
